Patriot’s End of the Season Banquet

By James Dalman

Fan’s, Parents and Players

We are approaching the end of the football season and it is time for our Annual Oklahoma Patriot’s Banquet to recognize the coaches and players.  Here are the details and we hope to see you all there!

  • Date: November 1st
  • Time: 6:30-9:30 pm
  • Location: 3600 NW Expressway (SE corner of NW Exp & Portland).  People should enter through the school doors which are on the northeast side of the building (facing Macaroni Grill & On the Border) – it says “Messiah Lutheran School” over the doors.  The parking lot wraps around the north, east and south side of the building, but the main church doors by the sanctuary (south end of the building) will not be open.
  • What to Bring: Families need to bring a “main” appetizer dish (finger foods work) and a dessert.

Examples of “main” dish are BBQ smokies, sausage-n-cheese balls, veggie trays with dip, finger sandwiches, etc.  Desserts such as brownies, cookies, or pies would be great!

ALSO please bring your own serving utensils and put your name on your dishes.  Our Patriots teams will provide the drinks & paper products.

We will do like we did last year with the Junior High Team going first, take a break and finish with the High School Team.  Both events will be in the same room.

If you have any questions, please call Kathy McCullough at 317-0738.

Jr. High Patriots vs. Christian Heritage

By James Dalman

The game at Christian Heritage Academy last night was a tough one!  It was a huge defensive battle until the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Our defensive guys made several goal line stands before letting them in the endzone and they did a super job with (I believe) three interceptions.  After CHA got the initial touchdown we lost the ball in our own end zone from the kickoff which resulted in another score for them.

We did get one TD back after CHA fumbled the ball on their thirty yard line.  Drake Logsdon emerged from a sea of players to take it to the house and get our only score of the game.  The Patriots followed with the onside kick but unfortunately CHA recovered it and was able to run out the clock for the win; Patriots 8 – CHA 16.

Great game guys!  You played tough and did well.
